Why Podcast?

  1. Podcasting  engages students and promotes communication and creativity.  Without the use of images and other media, students will learn to choose the best word to describe, they will learn to clearly articulate their message, and they will learn to speak with proper expression.
  2. Podcasting is a form of digital storytelling and allows for creative expression.  Podcasting provides students an opportunity to share stories that can be creative, engaging, informative, and even entertaining.
  3. Podcasting allows students to share original works with a global audience thus there is no concern for copyright violation.
  4. Podcasting allows for safe expression of thoughts and ideas.  Because names and images do not need to be associated with audio files, a student’s identity can be protected while sharing with broad audiences.
  5. Podcasting is cheap, practically free, and easy to implement!

Audacity

We are currently using Audacity to create most podcast.  This document will provide step-by-step instructions for producing a podcast.
