Media Matters is an initiative working toward the concept of digital storytelling. True digital storytelling is presenting a personal story in a captivating way using a combination of images, video, narration, and soundtracks. The compelling story will grasp the audiences attention and often provoke emotion.

That said, the concepts associated with digital storytelling have broadened to include using the same types of media to create a presentation for entertainment or educational purposes to inform the audience of some type of message.

This year, in BISD many teachers, principals, and administrators are implementing free media software tools such as Movie Maker, Photo Story, and Audacity to create projects. Through our media initiative the Instructional Technology Department is facilitating the movement from consumers of media to producers of media.
